Determining encephalic death (ED) is one of the hardest situations with the ones a physician has to face on his practice, not only because of the complex neurologic examination, usually not familiarized with, but also all the implications that means to declare that a person has stop living. In this paper we review the latest guidelines for determining ED in pediatric patients and adults, including ancillary tests, movements that can be present in patients with ED and adding practical tables with the aim to support physicians in the case that they had to face a patient with ED.Downloads
