Charles Bonnet syndrome (SCB) is a clinical entity characterized by the presence of generally complex visual hallucinations in elderly patients with a preserved cognitive status, significant visual acuity deterioration and without evidence of associated neuropsychiatric disorders. We present the clinical case of a 59-year-old female patient who developed complex visual hallucinations after the almost complete loss of visual function. The presence of visual hallucinations in elderly people with significant impairment of visual acuity and without alterations in the rest of the mental functions, forces a search for conditions that could involve the function of the visual pathway.
