Psychosis in patients with Parkinson’s disease is common and to date no adequate clinical instruments for evaluation. Objective: to determine the clinical usefulness of two instruments in the assessment of psychosis in Mexican patients with Parkinson’s disease. Methods: we included patients with Parkinson disease and psychosis. Instruments were applied clìncos TUHARS and UM-PDHQ, and were compared with the scale of positive and negative symptoms. Results: both instruments showed low internal consistency although the correlation between total scores of the two instruments was acceptable but not when compared with the PANSS. Conclusions: using the UM-PDHQ TUHARS in conjunction with the diagnostic criteria of NINDS-NIH may be useful as it develops and publishes a scale with adequate clinimetric properties.Downloads
