Abstract

61-year-old man referred to the neurosurgery department of a second level of attention, due to alterations in the sensitivity of the abdominal region and pelvic limbs, together with a decrease in the strength of the same coupled with faults occasional for the control of bladder sphincter, diagnostic studies were carried out, in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) we observed a space occupying lesion in the thoracic region related to a probable spinal meningioma in T6. Laminoplasty was performed and the tumor was resected, removing the spinal cord compression, the pathology result confirmed a transitional meningioma, the symptoms subsided and neurological deficit and muscle strength were recovered.
