Abstract

Introduction: BRIEF-A is a questionnaire that allows to assess executive function in adult population from the perspective of autoinforme and heteroinforme. It is a test extensively used in neuropsychology, no however, there is not date normative to Spanish population policy. It is constituted by ten scales that allow having a vision multidimensional construct executive function. Factor analysis models have allowed us to deepen its structure. Objective: Analyze the psychometric properties of the BRIEF-A (abbreviated form) in a sample of Spanish. Methodology. No experimental or ex post facto. Subjects. 66 subjects have participated. Analysisof the data: Factorial analysis. Results: We found a high internal consistency (Cronbach α of .841). Through the method of analysis with exploratory Factorial we found main factors, we have several structures: i.two factors that explain the variance of 35.3%. ii.44.62% of the three factors that explain the correlation structure of the original variables. iii.Four factors that explain the 52.81% of the correlation structure of the original variables. Conclusions: The results indicate that the dimensions that make up the functioning of the executive with the independence of the number of factors, these dimensions can grouped in relation to two major areas: hot versus cold in terms of emotional components versus processing information components.
